Playing outside

Its been a little while... longer than I like at least. It seems like summer just makes everything a bit busier. And this warm weather makes my kids a little bit grumpier usually too, which affects everyone's schedule. Regardless, we definitely have our fun days and are enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having.
Here are a few pictures from the past week...

AT THE JUNE JAMBOREE... CHARLOTTE RODE HER FIRST RIDES!

BECKETT'S FIRST TIME USING CHALK

HMM...WHERE DID MY SUNGLASSES GO?!

Well, now that I've posted these, it explains a lot about why I haven't been on the blog much lately... we've just been busy enjoying life together as a family!
(And I'm exhausted from doing all of this too!  haha!)

Continuing saga of the zucchini...

Well, we actually have a few zucchini growing already. Charlotte was quite excited when she saw this beautiful big yellow flower on the plants the other day... until it wasn't big and open anymore.  She actually cried... I told her that it was going to be a zucchini and she replied, "That's terrible, Mommy!" Apparently, flowers trump food in her world.  Can you blame her?  There are a couple more big yellow flowers this morning.  Not sure I should bring it to her attention.  :)

Getting paid to shop?!

Yep, I am now figuring out not only how to get things for cheap or free, but how to get "paid" for getting all these things! This week, I got all of this:

for only $15.35 out of pocket
(I saved $54.89 with coupons and sales)

And I have cash rebates coming back to me for $16.00, plus I got a $5 gift card back for Target! I am definitely not the person to get behind in line at the store though.
--------------------------------------
I also got this incredible stash of Oil of Olay products at Target this week:

spent $27.15 out of pocket
(saved $39.00 with giftcards and coupons)

And I have a cash rebate for $20.00 coming back, plus $10 in Target gift cards! Pretty sure I'm set for facewash products for a while!

Haircut!

We finally had to give a haircut in this house! (Charlotte still has only had a few scraggly pieces trimmed off.) Beckett was starting to look like a crazy mullet baby, so we pulled out the clippers and cut his baby hair off today. Ah! He did amazing!! Mommy was probably more upset than he was about the whole ordeal. My baby now looks like a "big boy." Here are some before and after pictures of our little stud:

First step!

Beckett took his first step on his own yesterday! Only one, but still.. he's getting it figured out.  We're sure by the end of summer, he'll be chasing his big sister all over the place.

The monkey is eating!

So FINALLY after what seems like an eternity of Beckett eating only bananas and crackers (hence, our little monkey) he is eating!  As in actually eating most foods I put on his tray... we knew it was only a matter of time, but some days we thought he'd be the only grown man eating bananas for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Guess there could have been worse things to worry about, but still... in our house, we are celebrating!  And less bananas to buy now (although they all still a staple for him!)  Two bunches of bananas every 2-3 days was getting a bit ridiculous.  :)
